Summary:
As Wendy Ling-Torres’ political star shines and rises, she begins to experience lingering memories about being abducted. For the Joes, Chuckles is rehabbing in the hospital while Cover Girl has gone into an induced coma.
Meanwhile, Destro, Baroness and their Iron Grenadiers make a full-frontal assault on Cobra’s Silent Castle. They encounter basic resistance, from Blue Ninja cyborgs disguised as Cobra Vipers. One Destro’s focrs have fully assembled in the Castle, Cobra Commander detonates it, remotely. The Iron Grenadiers (and the Silent Castle) are seemingly obliterated.
Notes:
- I really hope the Silent Castle is FINALLY gone. But it’s been rebuilt and re-assembled several times, so I expect it back in about a year.
- Yeah, we shouldn’t be buying the demise of Destro and the Baroness. Since Destro built the Castle, I’m fully expecting them to emerge from a secret bunker, soon.
- A minor interlude/sub-plot involves Zartan and his League of Losers at “Carob Tree Office Park”; Cobra’s former office building. They send Crystal Ball into a trance to gain info on Cobra’s plan. It works surprisingly well.
- Lady Jaye visits Chuckles in the hospital, bringing him a fruit basket… with a single malt scotch hidden underneath.
- It’s confirmed that only Chuckles and Cover Girl were injured. Three “Freds” were killed.
- Duke has a pleasant interlude with Claire.
- Ss the Flag Point Rating shows, this was probably the best issue of “Cobra World Order”, thus far. Had the little plot advancements, plus a big ol’ battle to satisfy. As next issue is the final part and a significant number (225), I’m assuming it’ll be an extra-sized issue or something.
